Community Involvement

Gude Drive Men’s Shelter
GNSI and its staff support the Gude Drive Men’s Shelter by providing home-cooked meals for their homeless patrons. Each Monday, staff bring the cooked meals to the office and they are taken to the shelter. Each meal serves 5-6 people.
The shelter provides 24 hour, 7 days a week shelter for men experiencing homelessness. The shelter serves approximately 850 men over the course of a year. Emergency shelter for homeless men has been provided at Gude Drive since the early 1990s. Shelter residents have access to basic amenities such as showers, beds, laundry and dining facilities. The shelter also offers a variety of supportive services to help shelter residents exit homelessness more quickly, including: thorough assessments, case management, vocational counseling and job training, health education classes, in-house 12-step meetings, and mobile medical services.

Tobacco-Free Kids
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is an organization which works to reduce tobacco use among young people through public advocacy and educational campaigns. Through endorsement and support of public policies aimed at reducing smoking and other forms of tobacco use, the group has been successful in preventing children from starting to smoke, continuing to smoke, and developing serious health issues because of tobacco.
The group is hosting its 16th Annual Youth Advocate of the Year Awards Gala on May 17th, 2012 in Washington, D.C. The Gala benefits the Campaign’s mission and will recognize many individuals, both young and old, who are leading the effort to fight tobacco use. The event is also an occasion for civic and philanthropic leaders to recognize progress and reaffirm goals in the fight against death and disease due to tobacco use.
GNSI believes that community involvement and advancing public health understanding are worthy causes, and has contributed towards this event. The company’s sponsorship is in recognition of the honorees’ exemplary achievements and concern for the children and the general public’s wellbeing.

Save a Child's Heart
Save A Child's Heart (SACH) provides urgently needed pediatric heart surgery and follow-up care for indigent children from developing countries. Based in Israel, our mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from countries where the heart surgery they need is unobtainable.
Every 29 hours their doctors save a child's life in our medical facilities in Israel or on medical missions in partner countries around the world. Thousands of children are alive today because of a small group of medical professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to perform life-saving cardiac surgery and train local medical personnel.
All children, regardless of race, religion, sex, color, or financial status receive the best possible care that modern medicine has to offer.
GNSI has contributed $10,000 to SACH in 2011.
For more information see the SACH U.S. Website.
